SnapSummary (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the SnapSummary Chrome extension (“the Extension”) collects, uses, and protects your information.

2. What Data Do We Collect?

SnapSummary does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The only data the Extension accesses is:

• Website Content: When you click the SnapSummary icon, the Extension reads the visible text content of the web page you are currently viewing. This content is used solely to generate a summary for you.

3. How Is Your Data Used?

• The text content of the current web page is sent securely to the Google Gemini API (https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/) for the sole purpose of generating a summary.
• The summary is displayed to you within the extension pop-up.
• No data is stored, logged, or shared by SnapSummary or its developers.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

• No personal data is collected or shared.
• The only third party involved is Google, whose Gemini API receives the web page text to generate a summary. This is necessary for the core functionality of the extension.
• SnapSummary does not sell, rent, or transfer any data to third parties for advertising or marketing.

5. Permissions

SnapSummary requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: To access the content of the web page you are currently viewing, you must click the extension icon.
• Scripting: To extract the visible text from the current web page.
• host permission for https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/: To securely communicate with the Google Gemini API for summarization.
